People Aren't Impressed with AT&T's 3G Launch - Just playing catch-up AT&T and Verizon Wireless have been in tight competition for the Illinois market. Earlier this year, AT&T announced system upgrades in the Springfield and Bloomington areas in an attempt to make their network comparable in speed to Verizon’s existing system. They’ve now announced that their 3G system is in place and ready for use in Springfield. But not everyone in the state thinks that AT&T is able to really compete with Verizon’s footprint.
